Duke Pediatric Cardiology and Duke University School of Medicine is seeking an inpatient pediatric cardiac hospitalist to be responsible for the daily functioning and coordination of care for the cardiology inpatient service.  Candidates should be BE/BC in pediatric cardiology, academically motivated, and skilled at collaborating with the pediatric cardiac team and other in-house specialists. This position will be focused on coordination of care for the cardiology inpatient service, and the consultative and collaborative interface with cardiac intensivists, cardiology subspecialists and medical subspecialists. 

The ideal candidate would be motivated to develop a high functioning inpatient service with improved outcomes, improved continuity of care and a service that meets the needs of families, consulting services, and referring cardiologists.  Interest in the development of practice protocols, quality improvement initiatives, and inpatient education initiatives would be a plus.

The inpatient service commitment would be approximately two weeks and one weekend per month leaving significant time for the development of subspecialty practice based on candidate interest, training, and experience. Faculty appointments and salary will be commensurate with the candidate's academic record.
