Chief, Division of Public Health

The Department of Healthcare Policy & Research at Weill Cornell Medicine seeks a dynamic chief for our new Division of Public Health.

The selected Chief, who will be an accomplished academic researcher with exemplary leadership experience, will join the leadership team of a transformative department at Weill Cornell Medicine. The Chief will lead the growth of the new Division, the growth of our Residency program in Public Health and General Preventive Medicine, and the development of a new MS program in Public Health, building on our successful MS programs in biostatistics, informatics, and health policy and economics.

The Chief will also lead national and international research related to the social determinants of health, health disparities, population health, and the interaction of the health care system with factors that affect population health, such as housing, the built environment, incarceration, social networks, and social services. We are particularly interested in ways that health care delivery organizations – such as hospitals and accountable care organizations – can interact with their surrounding communities to improve the health of their populations.

The selected Chief will have an outstanding record of introducing innovations, obtaining funding, and publishing research results. Candidates should be Associate or Full Professors. Opportunities will be available to collaborate with faculty at Cornell University, the new Cornell Tech campus, and other academic institutions across New York City and nationally.
