Western Connecticut Medical Group is seeking an Academic Pathologist for Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT, about 70 miles northeast of New York City, and near the border of Westchester and Putnam Counties in New York State, to join our 16 Board certified pathologists with a broad range of expertise and extensive clinical experience. Pathologists work collaboratively and collegially as Medical Directors of WCHN Laboratories to provide over 3 million test results per year (inclusive of approximately 40,000 surgical pathology cases). Danbury Hospital proudly hosts one of only three pathology residency programs in the State of Connecticut. WCHN is a teaching affiliate of the University of Vermont which confers ranked academic appointments.

Danbury Hospital is part of Western Connecticut Health Network, which also includes New Milford and Norwalk Hospitals as well as over 70 outpatient practice locations. Danbury Hospital has 371 beds and is a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 70,000 ED visits per year. As a teaching hospital, we are associated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Yale University School of Medicine, and St. George's University School of Medicine. Job Summary:

General Anatomic and Clinical Pathology with additional focus on Gastrointestinal Pathology

Job Requirements:

  • MD or DO and completion of AP/CP Residency training and strong commitment to resident and medical student education.
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
  • Connecticut State License.
  • GI Pathology Fellowship training strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to work a full-time day schedule with Call
