Medical Director of Occupational Medicine

AtlantiCare, a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recipient and the leading health system in southeastern New Jersey, is searching for a board certified occupational medicine physician to serve as the Medical Director of Occupational Medicine and oversee the continued growth of this rapidly expanding program.

This is an opportunity to advance your career, with a multidisciplinary, hospital-based employee health program servicing more than 5,400 employees. This position has board accountabilities and the leadership latitude to review, design, implement, and improve occupational-medicine care systems and processes to achieve optimal quality outcomes. The successful candidate will serve as a practicing occupational medicine physician and take on an active leadership role in the development and coordination of quality assurance standards and professional medical protocols with, and for, other occupational health providers.

The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical and interpersonal skills, as well as a proven ability to lead, motivate, and assess professional staff. He or she will also have a thorough understanding of business practice analysis and reporting mechanisms, plus the ability to understand and verbalize how the business portion affects the clinical portion of occupational medicine. Additionally, this candidate should have current, thorough working knowledge of OSHA regulations; toxic exposure protocols; workers’ compensation rules, regulations, and patient management; and DOT drug and alcohol screening rules and regulations.
