Executive Director

University of South Florida's Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS)

The University of South Florida Health (USF Health) announces a national search for the CAMLS Executive Director.

The University of South Florida Health (USF Health) is seeking a forward-thinking and operationally engaged Executive Director (ED) with experience in management and strategy in academia and/or the private sector to lead the USF Health Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS), a state-of-the-art medical learning and simulation training center in downtown Tampa, Florida. CAMLS is one of the nation's largest freestanding medical simulation facilities dedicated to training health care professionals at the local, national, and international levels. Through simulation-based education and evidence-based best practices, CAMLS strives to educate students, train faculty, and prepare health care professionals to acquire, maintain, and enhance their clinical practice and research skills in an effort to improve overall patient safety.

About CAMLS: Opened in 2012, the 90,000-square-foot, three-story facility provides a state-of-the-art, high-fidelity clinical environment with 30,000 square feet dedicated to surgical skill labs, operating trauma suites, and patient exam rooms, plus more than 25,000 square feet of meeting and conference space. CAMLS supports industry, hospital, health care systems, associations and USF Health clients with 37 clinical-grade surgical skill stations that enable health care professionals and medical device companies to train learners in a true-to-life setting. An in-house tissue provider, a satellite vivarium, an extensive equipment and instrument inventory, and 25,000 square feet of meeting space complement the experiential learning functionality.

Master's degree relating to Health Care Administration/Leadership, Business Administration, or Medical Education strongly recommended. Doctoral degree desired, but not necessary. Degrees outside these fields will be considered if there is demonstrated ability and related experience in managing complex organizations.
