The World’s Brightest Minds Always Innovate

St Jude Children’s Research Hospital is a private, not-for-profit institute that is internationally recognized for its commitment to performing cutting edge research and providing state-of-the-art clinical services, with the goal to improve the outcomes for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. St. Jude is the first and only pediatric cancer center to be designated as a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute and in 2017 was named the number 1 pediatric cancer hospital by US News & World Report.

We are seeking a highly motivated clinical faculty-level investigator with training and experience in hematology and oncology and a strong interest in genetics to participate in cancer genomics initiatives. The clinical faculty member will be housed in the Division of Cancer Predisposition, a newly formed section within the Department of Oncology dedicated to the evaluation and management of children at increased genetic risk for cancer. Through a multi-disciplinary approach, we strive to provide unsurpassed medical care to affected children and their families.

The Division also provides a highly interactive environment where the clinical faculty member will have ample opportunities to participate in exciting educational and research initiatives centered around clinical genomics, gene discovery, and cancer surveillance in collaboration with investigators from the Departments of Computational Biology, Pathology, Radiology, Hematology, Epidemiology & Cancer Control, and Pharmaceutical Sciences. As an integral member of a team of genetic counselors, nurse practitioner, numerous physician-scientists including a clinical geneticist, psychologist, and ethicist, the faculty member will have the ability to execute cutting edge research in conjunction with comprehensive patient care.

The clinical faculty member will experience the benefits of working in an environment where patient care and treatment are prioritized above all else. This is a remarkable opportunity to be part of a collaborative, positive workplace where all employees, regardless of their role, share the same commitment to make a difference in the lives of the children we serve. St. Jude is consistently ranked on Fortune Magazine’s “100 Best Places to Work For” and is No. 9 on the 2018 Glassdoor “Best Place to Work” list for companies with 1,000 or more employees.

This position is based in Memphis, TN with relocation assistance available. Memphis is a family-friendly metropolitan area with a strong and growing genetic counseling community. Memphis is recognized for its world-class music, food, and hospitality. Cost of living is one of the biggest attractions; in fact, Money listed Memphis as one of the least expensive cities in which to raise a child. Mild winters and beautiful green spaces are part of the reasons why Forbes recently named Memphis the 4th happiest city in which to work.

Successful candidates will have expertise in the areas of hematology/oncology and cancer genetics. Candidates should have an MD, MD/PhD, or DO degree, and be Board certified or Board-eligible in clinical genetics and/or hematology-oncology (pediatric or adult). The facilities and salaries are competitive and a generous benefit package is included.

A letter of inquiry and CV should be sent to:
