Duke University Medical Center Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is expanding its outpatient services in an effort to help meet the access needs for behavioral health services within Durham, NC and in the greater Triangle community. We are seeking to hire a full-time Clinical Psychologist (Ph.D) to help increase access to outpatient treatment in a wide range of adults.

Specifically, we are seeking individuals who are interested in developing and implementing brief evidence-based individual therapy care pathways designed to demonstrate the value of behavioral health services to emerging and young adult patients within Duke Health. Applicants should have training and knowledge in value-based payor models associated with the 2015 MACRA legislation. The ideal applicant would have: (a) strong clinical training from a scientist-practitioner or clinical science doctoral training program, (b) extensive training in use of the empirically supported interventions and principles of behavior change, (c) training in brief behavioral interventions (e.g., motivational interviewing) and contemporary cognitive behavioral therapies emphasizing acceptance and mindfulness, (d) training in the change from volume-based to value-based clinical service models, and (e) expertise and interest in implementing brief individual therapies to young and emerging adults. Clinical responsibilities will include diagnostic evaluations, individual psychotherapy, and participation in clinical consultation teams and multidisciplinary meetings. Over time, there may be opportunities to be involved in training and supervision of psychology trainees or residents.
