  Geisinger is currently seeking a BC/BE primary care physician with a working knowledge of quality driven care programs and improvement science, to join its well-established department of Community Medicine as the Medical Director of Quality and Innovations.

At Geisinger, team members from all areas are working together to improve patient access and quality of care, all to produce best-in-nation outcomes and patient experience. Multiple initiatives, including Geisinger’s Community Medicine Care Redesign, have been introduced that represent the “first wave” of work on this, a top strategic priority for Geisinger.

In addition to maintaining an active clinical practice, the Medical Director of Quality and Innovations will partner with leaders of Community Medicine and Geisinger Health Plan, as well as front-line staff, to identify best practices and care gaps, develop targets and initiatives and influence/drive change to improve outcomes and ensure quality of care.

 

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated expertise and commitment to quality improvement, proven leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively with all members of the care team. Technical (computer) skills and a willingness to travel throughout Geisinger’s primary care service area, are a must. 3 years of quality improvement experience and/or an advanced degree in quality is preferred.
