Mecklenburg Eye Associates, a well-established ophthalmology practice located in beautiful Charlotte, NC is seeking a comprehensive / medical retina ophthalmologist to replace a recently departed physician. We have an extensive existing patient base and a developed referral network. The existing patient base is a nice mix of comprehensive ophthalmology and medical retina. The patient base offers a good cataract volume to start (with the option of LensX laser) and surgical retina (presently referred out) which could be kept in house for the right candidate. There are several attractive options available to build the type of practice you want.

It was recently rated one of the 50 best U.S. cities to live in, and was the only city with a population over 350,000 to make the list. Charlotte has a major airline hub, is home to the Carolina Panthers NFL team, the Charlotte Hornets NBA team, Charlotte Knights Triple A baseball team, the US National Whitewater Center (US Olympic training facility) and all types of excellent theatre and restaurants. Charlotte is located just a few hours from the coast or the smoky mountains.

The practice has great support staff, integrated PM/EHR, Argon w/indirect head set / Yag/ Diode lasers, SD-OCT, digital cameras with FA and ICG, HVF, lenstar, cryo equipment. We are a state of the art facility with a full optical and CL dispensary. We offer great work hours with minimal practice call. We are a three-doctor practice with excellent growth potential. This is a partnership track position leading to co-ownership if desired. Excellent salary with productivity bonus, 401(k), health and dental insurance. Ownership interest in significant real estate will also be available.

All candidates should be comfortable with retina injections. Current North Carolina and/or South Carolina license a plus. This is a full-time position. Employer will assist with relocation costs for the right candidate. Principals only. No recruiters please.
