Rush University Medical Center, located in downtown Chicago, IL, is seeking a full-time board certified Infectious Disease physician to serve as the Division Chief of Infectious Diseases.

Qualified candidates will have credentials and experience at the level of an Associate Professor or Professor. The successful candidate will be a physician or physician scientist with a well-established history of academic commitment, federal research funding, and mentorship. He/she will promote research collaborations across the institution and community, attract and develop diverse and qualified faculty, oversee clinical and administrative activities of the Division, and enhance the education of medical students, residents, and fellows. The candidate should have a strong understanding of financial management.

The Division of Infectious Diseases has a thriving research arm with more than $2.7 million in annual funding. The Division is made up of 18 faculty members, many who are nationally known experts. The Division is also comprised of a PA, infusion nurses, research nurses, and project managers.

John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County is a major clinical, research, and academic partner of Rush’s Division of Infectious Diseases. Together the two organizations partnered to open the Rush M. Rothstein CORE Center in 1998, which remains one of the largest HIV/AIDS clinics in the United States. Rush and Stroger offer a combined fellowship program with a large and diverse faculty and patient population, making it a premier Infectious Disease training program.
