The Cardiovascular Division at the University of Minnesota has a regional, national, and international reputation in advanced heart failure clinical care and research. The institution’s mechanical circulatory support program is the largest in the region implanting 50-60 VADS per year which supports an active transplant program performing 25-30 transplants per year. To expand this robust Advanced Heart Failure, Transplantation, and Mechanical Circulatory Support program, the Division is now seeking an academically oriented, Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist at the Associate Professor or Professor level for a 75% protected research, 25% clinical, endowed chair supported, tenured track position.
The candidate will work closely with the Cardiovascular Division and LHI leadership to expand the University’s research, academic, and clinical missions.
Required areas of expertise include general clinical cardiology, advanced training and expertise in Advanced Heart Failure patient care management, as well as proven knowledge and success in research publication and mentorship.
Attainment of externally funded grant submissions and experience in supporting post-graduate fellowship training are desirable.
