ACADEMIC SPINE NEUROSURGEON

Worcester, MA

The Department of Neurological Surgery at UMass Memorial Medical Center and the University of Massachusetts Medical School is actively recruiting a full-time clinical academic neurosurgeon with fellowship training and/or experience in complex spine surgery. The UMass Spine Center is a multidisciplinary program that is enjoying rapid growth. There is a clinical demand for additional Neurosurgery faculty with particular expertise in the management of complex spinal disorders. Experience in spinal reconstruction surgery, spine trauma, or minimally invasive spinal surgery is desired. This position requires a commitment to excellence in patient care, teaching, research, and clinical practice. Clinical or translational research interests are encouraged and aggressively supported. The academic rank will be commensurate with expertise and training. Applicants must be board certified or board eligible in neurological surgery.

With more than 1,100 physicians, the UMass Memorial Medical Group is one of the largest, integrated multispecialty group medical practices on the entire East Coast. Our physicians provide primary care and specialty services for both routine and complex health needs, and practice at locations in Worcester and throughout Central Massachusetts.

Located in Central Massachusetts, Worcester is the second largest city in Massachusetts and in New England. Worcester and the surrounding area have a strong and diverse economic base with family oriented communities offering excellent school systems. The cultural offerings are abundant. Boston is only 40 miles away, and lakes, beaches, and mountains are all easily accessible.
