To become the next Chair of its Department of Psychiatry. Weill Cornell Medicine's Department of Psychiatry is one of the largest and most prestigious academic psychiatry departments in the country. Affiliated with NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital for more than a century, the department has a history of national leadership in clinical care; education and training; and research and scholarship. The Department Chair oversees a large clinical enterprise that includes over 300 inpatient beds and an array of outpatient programs across two campuses: NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center on Manhattan's Upper East Side, and NewYork-Presbyterian/Westchester. NYP/Westchester is located on a historic campus 22 miles from Manhattan in White Plains, New York. The Department is comprised of almost 600 faculty, including 400 voluntary faculty, and 70 staff members. The Department is distinguished by several internationally-renowned research institutes including The Sackler Institute for Developmental Psychobiology, Weill Cornell Institute of Geriatric Psychiatry, and DeWitt Wallace Institute for the History of Psychiatry, as well as several other prominent research programs. The Department has accredited residency-training programs in general psychiatry, child adolescent psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, and consultation liaison psychiatry, and has strong partnerships with Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Rockefeller University. We are seeking an accomplished scientist, clinician, and educator with proven academic accomplishments, strong leadership qualities, a demonstrated ability to work effectively with faculty and staff, and the desire to have a significant impact on the direction of the field.
