Academic Hospitalist Danbury Hospital

Western Connecticut Medical Group is seeking a full-time Academic/Teaching Hospitalist for Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT about 70 miles northeast of New York City, and near the border of Westchester and Putnam Counties in New York State, to join our established and busy program. This is a full-time day position from 8 AM – 5 PM with one in four weekends required and some evening shifts of 3 pm – 11 PM about six weeks per year. Protected non-clinical time. Academic appointment at University of Vermont. This is an employed position with Western Connecticut Medical Group. We offer a competitive compensation package, including base salary plus quality incentives and allowances for CMEs and Dues. The ideal candidate will be board certified/eligible in Internal Medicine. This is a great opportunity to run the teaching service for our Danbury Hospital Internal Medicine Residents in a community hospital.

Job Summary:

Provide medical care to patients, assist them to recover from acute illnesses, and minimize the effects of chronic illnesses. 

Job Requirements:

• MD or DO with Connecticut State and Federal Narcotic Use Registration
• Preferred: 3+ years’ experience as a Hospitalist with some teaching experience required
• Have successfully completed an Internal Medicine Residency
• Board Certified in Internal Medicine
• Willingness to work variable shifts from 8 AM – 5 PM with 1 in 4 weekends from 8 AM – 5 PM and some evening shifts of 3 pm – 11 PM about 6 weeks per year
