Division of Cardiology, Department of Internal Medicine, at University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB Health), Galveston, Texas, seeks an invasive cardiologist to join its robust, academic cardiology practice at the title of Assistant or Associate Professor. The position is available immediately. The successful candidate will participate in the well-managed, robustly-growing, academic cardiology practice with an energetic group of cardiologists. The practice is supported by the excellent infrastructure of the UTMB Health, and entails cardiac catheterization procedures at the new cath labs, outpatient and inpatient services, echo and imaging interpretation, and the education of medical students, interns, residents, and fellows.

Our division strives to create and maintain a positive, stable, and efficient work environment. The successful candidate will enjoy highly collaborative and stimulating academic interactions with the faculty, fellows, and staff.

The successful candidate should be board certified or eligible in ABIM Cardiovascular Diseases, proficient in left and right heart catheterization procedures, and in interpretation of echocardiography and nuclear perfusion scan. The candidate should possess or is eligible for full medical license in the State of Texas. In addition to function as a competent invasive cardiologist, leadership opportunities are available in the following areas: (1) Cardiology Clinical Research, (2) Women’s Heart Health, and (3) Cardiovascular Care of Inmates.
