The Hematology/Oncology Division of the Department of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) is seeking candidates for clinical faculty members with experience and expertise in a Phase I therapeutic clinical trials program. This position is an element of a “Cluster Hire” and is in the non-tenure track Clinical Series at the level of Associate or Full Professor, depending upon the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and achievements. The successful candidate will be charged with development and leadership of a coordinated Phase I program under the auspices of the NCI-designated Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, and will be expected to engage in clinical research and clinical education in addition to limited patient care responsibilities. UC Irvine is home to one of 48 NCI designated comprehensive cancer centers and one of only 23 institutions also holding a Clinical Translational Science Award. Strong candidates are expected to have a defined clinical focus. Applicants must hold an MD or equivalent degree with ABIM certification and hold ABIM subspecialty certification in an oncologic subspecialty including but not limited to; Gynecologic Oncology, Hematology, Medical Oncology, or Surgical Oncology. Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain an active medical practice license in the State of California.
