The Division of Surgery at Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center is actively recruiting for a Chief of Surgery to lead our team on the Banner Gateway Medical Center campus and at additional facilities in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Banner MD Anderson seeks in its next Chief of Surgery an exceptional clinician with proven skills and values to lead a highly successful clinical enterprise. Candidates should have excellent subspecialty clinical training and experience in advanced surgical oncology, in addition to a strong interest in clinical research. Qualified candidates are required to be board certified with demonstrated leadership experience. Candidates from all surgical specialties will be considered for the position.

The Division of Surgery currently includes 17 clinicians (22 with current recruitment) who provide outstanding surgical care for patients with all types of malignancies. Designed with experts from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, the center has an evidence-based design and, state-of-the-art technologies including advanced surgical tools, the Da Vinci robotics system, and advanced treatment capabilities. The candidate will be expected to lead a highly integrated team of surgeons and interface closely with the multidisciplinary cancer program. The Chief’s role is to lead the effort to achieve the Division’s strategic, clinical, academic, operational, and financial goals. An active clinical research program has also been established, and the Chief will be expected to promote growth in research activities. This is an exciting and exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated surgical oncologist to direct a surgery division in a cutting edge, multidisciplinary cancer center.
