Job Details

Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, Connecticut—a member of Trinity Health Of New England, the nation's second-largest nonprofit health system—is seeking a highly experienced Board-Certified physician leader to be Vice President of Medical Affairs/Regional Chief Medical Officer.

In this highly visible role, you will oversee three hospitals in the Hartford region—Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center and Mount Sinai Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut and Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford Springs, Connecticut—and report directly to the President of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center and Hartford Region for Trinity Health Of New England.

This is an outstanding opportunity to demonstrate clinical, academic, analytical and administrative skills as you lead, collaborate with and inspire our physicians. You will also be a key member of the executive leadership team. The Chief Medical Officer, in partnership with the Chief Nursing Officer, oversees the development and measurement of our healthcare system's overall approach in two strategic areas: quality/performance improvement and patient safety.

In collaboration with the Presidents of the Medical Staffs, you will coordinate medical staff activities in a manner that is consistent with our organization's mission and objectives. Additional duties of the Vice President of Medical Affairs/Regional Chief Medical Office include providing effective governance of medical staff; the interpretation of medical staff bylaws, objectives and operational procedures; and oversight of any changes to them. You will also be responsible for physician credentialing and ensuring the quality of provider outcomes.

Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience as a Chief Medical Officer, extensive knowledge of quality, performance improvement tools, regulatory issues, and strong skills in utilization management and value methodology.

Saint Francis is proud of its history of provider collaboration. Our practice model empowers our physicians to work at their highest level—and allows time for professional development and family life. If you are focused on providing outstanding patient-centered care and medical leadership, it's time to join Saint Francis.
