Academic Nephrologist Position
Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine and Northwell Health’s Division of Nephrology at North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Long Island, NY is seeking a Board Certified/Eligible Nephrologist at the Assistant or Associate Professor Level to join our dynamic and collaborative group of 20 Nephrologists. The Division of Nephrology is acclaimed for its clinical, educational and research activities, and innovative programs.
This is a 100% nephrology practice that involves the practice of Academic Nephrology caring for a wide variety of patients, accompanied by teaching responsibilities and research opportunities. The clinical practice occurs in various settings including hospital consults, general Nephrology clinic, outpatient hemodialysis, and home dialysis clinic. The division maintains specialized clinical interests in onconephrology, point of care ultrasound, women’s health in nephrology, and a cardio-renal service, among others.
The position comes with a faculty appointment at the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine. Teaching responsibilities include both didactic and clinical teaching of medical students, residents, and nephrology fellows. For candidates interested in research, participation is possible in all aspects of the Division’s research activities. Protected time might be available for the candidate with interest in research.
