Program Director of Clinical Cancer Genetics
Roswell Park Cancer Institute’s Department of Medicine is seeking a full-time clinical geneticist for the Director of the Familial Cancer Program.
Duties will include review of clinical cases and sign out of reports, test protocol development, and administrative duties, such as overseeing personnel. The successful candidate is expected to participate in research, teaching, and educational programs at multiple levels (residents, fellows, graduate students). Ample opportunity exists for participating in clinical molecular diagnostics, as well as for conducting a research program, or for collaborating with basic and clinical researchers throughout the University.
Applicants must have MD or OD (or foreign equivalents), have at least two years of experience in cancer genetics, and be eligible or have boards from the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics.
The successful applicant will oversee the Familial Cancer Genetics program with three clinical genetic counselors. The individual will be a member of the Genetics and Genomic Program, one of five established programs supported by our Cancer Center Support Grant. In addition, the Director will be responsible for our outreach cancer genetics program and will help establish a genetics program in our survivorship program.
The Director will report to the Chair of Medicine and will have an appointment at RPCI and the University of Buffalo Medical School commensurate with their background and accomplishments.
