The Center of Emphasis in Cancer at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso Paul L. Foster School of Medicine invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level. We seek individuals with PhD, MD, MD-PhD, or equivalent degrees with a record of accomplishment in basic or translational cancer research. We are particularly interested in individuals who are completing post-doctoral training and are looking for an initial faculty position. Ideal candidates should have scientific expertise and interest in one or more of the following areas: cancer development and progression, experimental therapeutics, cancer biomarkers, or cancer genomics or proteomics, particularly as related to breast, colon, lung, cervical, or prostate cancers.

Recruited faculty will be supported by generous start up funds, a competitive salary, modern facilities and instrumentation, and administrative and infrastructure support. Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the university’s missions through research, teaching, and service; to teach and mentor students, fellows, and other trainees; to develop and maintain rigorous, externally funded research programs to participate in cancer center activities; and to be engaged in cancer research activities within the state of Texas and nationally. Faculty with clinical interests in oncology will be eligible for a secondary appointment in another department in the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine.
