Geisinger Health System, one of the premiere tertiary medical systems on the east coast, serving the Northeast and Central PA region, is recruiting child/adolescent psychiatrists to expand our practice at Geisinger Medical Center, located in Danville, PA.

 

Geisinger’s Child & Adolescent Psychiatry team is committed to collaborative care and evidence-based treatments, with a breadth of child psychology and family therapy colleagues.

Among the conditions we see, on-site services include:

- behavior modification & problem-solving skills training for ADHD, ODD, and other behavior problems

- parent-child interaction therapy; Incredible Years program for preschool age children

- family & group therapy for adolescents and parent-child problems

- cognitive-behavioral therapy for depression & anxiety, including CBT with exposure & response prevention for OCD

- compressive behavioral intervention for tics, with habit reversal training

- weight management behavioral program for parents & children/teens

- comprehensive neuropsychological testing/diagnostic evaluations

The Division of Psychiatry at GMC encompasses a full array of services and modalities, including adult and child psychiatry, adult and child psychology, adult and child neuropsychology, primary care and specialty integrated care clinics, inpatient short-term care, intensive outpatient programming, community psychiatry, university mental health services, telepsychiatry, comprehensive consult and liaison services, and ECT. The Division’s strong focus on academics offers the opportunity to teach and support medical students, interns and fellows, as well as involvement with our newly established, ACGME-accredited Psychiatry Residency program.

Geisinger Medical Center (GMC), located Danville, PA, the largest tertiary/quaternary care teaching hospital in the region, is licensed for 475 beds, including 89 pediatric beds in the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital.  GMC, a MagnetHospital, maintains the region’s only Level 1 Regional Resource Trauma Center with additional qualifications in pediatrics. GMC offers an array of highly specialized medical and surgical services, including neurosciences, cardiovascular services, transplantation, women’s health (in the Women’s Pavilion), oncology and orthopaedics.  The Hospital for Advanced Medicine serves as an integrated center for the most critical patients. Outpatient services are available on and off campus.
