Academic Internal Medicine

Advocate Medical Group (AMG), a division of Advocate Health Care, seeks a full-time physician to join the Internal Medicine faculty at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital located in the northern suburbs of Chicago. Working with our team of highly skilled physician educators, the preferred candidate will be an effective teacher and an adaptable team player, interested in a multi-faceted practice opportunity involving both inpatient and outpatient care. 

Position Highlights

• Join seven physicians in a busy, well-established clinic and teaching environment
• Work with the IM Residents at Lutheran General Hospital (at Top 100 Hospital)    
• 80% Clinical coverage and 20% teaching faculty responsibilities
• Shared resident faculty practice using a patient centered medical home model
• 1/7 Weekend inpatient rounding and one Saturday every two months in clinic
• Clinical support staff including RNs, LPNs, and CMA

Position Requirements

• Completion of an ACGME accredited residency in Internal Medicine
• Board Certification in Internal Medicine
• Astute clinical skills in inpatient and outpatient management
• A minimum of one year post residency experience or fellowship
• Strong commitment to patient management and educating residents through precepting, supervision, teaching, and role modeling
• Highly motivated to participate in scholarly activities

About The Faculty Practice

The Internal Medicine Teaching Faculty is made up of Internal Medicine physicians who are chosen for their excellent quality of care and dedication to teaching. These faculty educators have a close collaboration with the IM residents, delivering patient care in the office and hospital setting. The shared resident faculty practice uses a NCQA recognized Level 3 patient centered medical home model that provides the residents an opportunity to develop ambulatory skills in a “real world” clinical environment.
