Loma Linda University Department of Medicine and Faculty Medical Group have immediate openings for full-time faculty candidates to grow its Infectious Diseases Division. Qualified candidates must be board certified/board eligible in Infectious Diseases.

The Infectious Diseases Division is heavily involved in medical student and resident education, and currently teaches in the basic sciences of Pharmacology, Microbiology, and Biochemistry. Where contribution to basic science teaching is significant, protected time is arranged, up to 0.5 FTE.

Infectious Diseases faculty members participate in hospital consultation, clinics, and resident and student education. There is opportunity for areas of special interest, but the position is primarily teaching and the clinical practice of General Infectious Diseases. The ID Division traditionally supplies the Hospital Epidemiologist, a position currently available. Call will be, in general, one day/week, one weekend/month, and 1 in 4 holidays.

Job Description:

  • Full-time Infectious Diseases Physician
  • 80-90% Inpatient consultation in General Infectious Diseases with periodic outpatient clinic involvement. 
  • Antibiotic education and control: a division wide responsibility

Loma Linda University’s Medical Center and Children’s Hospital is the only Level I Trauma Center serving a four county area that covers approximately 25 percent of the state.

Loma Linda is located between Los Angeles and Palm Springs. Nestled at the foot of the San Bernardino mountains, we have convenient access to beach cities, skiing, hiking, and a variety of other outdoor activities. This region also has excellent private and public school systems.
