The Henry Ford Health System, located in southeast Michigan, is seeking a board certified neurologist to serve as Director of The Harris Comprehensive Stroke Center. Fellowship training in Vascular or Interventional Neurology and a strong track record of academic achievement is highly desirable.

With five fellowship-trained vascular neurologists, three cerebrovascular neurosurgeons, two interventional endovascular specialists, backed by large Departments of Neurology, Neurosurgery, Emergency Medicine and Neuroradiology and a 16-bed neuro ICU, the Henry Ford Stroke and Neurovascular Center has over 30 years of experience in the medical, interventional, and surgical management of stroke.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating stroke care across the entire Henry Ford Health System, which includes five hospitals, 2,305 hospital beds, and eight emergency departments. The Henry Ford Stroke and Neurovascular Center is a leader in pioneering new treatments for stroke and is recognized worldwide for its laboratory, translational, and clinical research. Our busy clinical practice treats over 1,400 stroke patients a year. The Henry Ford Stroke and Neurovascular Center has been recognized by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as a designated stroke center for over 20 years, as well as being certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center by the Joint Commission.

As an academic program, the Henry Ford Stroke and Neurovascular is in the top 5% for NIH funded stroke research in the U.S. Ample opportunities for stroke-related research exist within the Center, including laboratory, translational, clinical trials, epidemiology and population research. This leadership position also offers protected time for educational and other academic endeavors, including a teaching role with medical students, neurology residents, and stroke fellows. Additionally, a tenure track academic appointment at the Associate or Full professor level is offered through Wayne State University School of Medicine.
