Executive Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management and Administration

Albany Medical College, in partnership with the national search firm of Scott Healy & Associates, invites applications and nominations for the position of Executive Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management and Administration.  The Assistant Dean will provide visionary and operational leadership for Enrollment Management and Operations and will work to effectively define, manage and achieve the College's growth objectives and strategic plan. He/she will manage division operations, set benchmarks, develop best practices, and measure progress toward strategic objectives employing empirical data. This position will also support the specific diversity planning initiatives that are already in place at the College for both students and faculty.

The Assistant Dean will also oversee the planning process to attract, recruit, enroll and retain students with the goal of increasing overall student engagement, persistence and diversity. The Assistant Dean is expected to engage in professional development and successfully coach staff to meet benchmarks.

Qualifications: The selected Assistant Dean should have the following qualifications:

  • Extensive and successful experience in enrollment management for 10 (ten) years or more in either the undergraduate, graduate, or professional arenas in higher education;
  • At least 5 (five) years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in medical school admissions or financial aid;
  • Effective leadership in the areas of strategic marketing with the ability to motivate, guide, and work side by side with the admissions staff, faculty, and the faculty admissions committee;
  • Sound knowledge, programmatic understanding and a proven approach in the use of technology in the areas of admissions, retention, and enrollment management;
  • An earned Master’s degree;
  • Demonstrated sensitivity in dealing with matters involving applicants, students, faculty and staff, and be a strong team player.
