Duke University Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science is looking for a Clinical Health Psychologist to join its Psychosomatic Medicine Service at Duke Raleigh Hospital. Duke Raleigh Hospital is a 200 bed medical and surgical specialty hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Psychosomatic Medicine Service sees consultations on medical and surgical patients in the emergency department and hospital floors. It also performs crisis stabilization and brief therapies on primary psychiatric patients who are admitted to observation while awaiting inpatient placement or, if stabilized, discharged to outpatient services in the community. Applicants should have training and expertise in performing comprehensive psychosocial assessments and the ability to work with individuals, couples and families. The ideal candidate would have clinical training in contemporary cognitive behavioral therapy including those emphasizing acceptance (e.g., ACT, MBCT, DBT) and change-based strategies and a desire to work in an inpatient medical setting in collaboration with physicians and nurses as a part of a medical team.
