Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a Geriatrician to join a thriving multi-disciplinary practice. Working in collaboration with geriatric nurse practitioners, social workers, and case managers, the staff Geriatrician provides primary care to frail elderly patients and consultative care to a broader aging population. The staff Geriatrician will care for patients primarily in the outpatient setting, and clinical care may occasionally extend to the home or to a skilled nursing facility.
Duties will include clinical care: five to six sessions of outpatient care per week and night and weekend call per agreed upon schedule. It will also include both didactic and direct teaching of residents and fellows.
The ideal staff Geriatrician will have experience related to the detection of Dementia in Primary Care Settings, Normal Memory Changes with Age, Mild Memory Impairment, and Dementia. Preference will be given to candidates with clinical Geriatric Medicine training.
In addition, the staff Geriatrician will work on quality improvement projects to improve the care of our patients, and/or educational projects that will advance the teaching of our fellows and house staff and meet the professional interests of the individual.
