Medical Director/Corporate Health (Occupational Medicine) – Western Connecticut Health Network, Danbury and Norwalk, CT

Western Connecticut Health Network has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Medical Director of Corporate Health to oversee our network’s Occupational Medicine/Corporate Health Services as well as Employee Health. There will be oversight at both our Danbury and Norwalk locations in Fairfield County, Connecticut, located about 50 miles northeast of New York City. Position will be a combination of administrative and clinical responsibilities, including oversight of advanced practice providers. In addition to clinical oversight, the Director will support achievement of practice goals in alignment with the network’s strategic and operational objectives.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of clinical experience in Occupational Medicine with residency training/board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine and additional training/board certification in Occupational Medicine or Preventative Health. Previous leadership experience in Occupational Medicine preferred. Current DOT certification required. This is an employed position with a highly competitive compensation package, including allowances for CME and Dues and relocation.

Western Connecticut Health Network includes Danbury, New Milford, and Norwalk Hospitals, with over 7,000 employees. Established in 1885, Danbury Hospital is a not for profit community hospital providing Greater Danbury area residents convenient access to exceptional care. Danbury Hospital has 371 beds and is a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 70,000 ED visits per year. Norwalk Hospital has 366 beds and is also a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 50,000 ED visits per year. Both Danbury and Norwalk are teaching hospitals, associated with the Yale University School of Medicine, University of Vermont School of Medicine, and Ross University School of Medicine. The network also includes Western Connecticut Medical Group, which employs 400+ physicians and 140+ advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout Western Connecticut and eastern New York with over 70 outpatient practice locations.

Filled with quaint towns and scenic rolling hills, the Fairfield County area offers a variety of excellent housing and school options. As part of the greater NY metropolitan area, the cities of Danbury and Norwalk enjoy both proximity to New York City culture and access to a wide array of outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, fishing, and boating in state parks as well as along the shore of the Long Island Sound. Boston, New York City, New Haven, and Hartford are easily accessible via train, car, or bus.
