Legacy Health has an exciting opportunity for President, Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, a key leadership role. The selected individual will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will manage our largest facility, Legacy Emanuel Medical Center with over 2,400 employees, and Unity Center for Behavioral Health, a 24-hour behavioral health center that provides immediate psychiatric care and a path to recovery for people experiencing a mental health crisis. Nationally known for expertise in critical health conditions and featuring specialists in virtually every field of medicine, Legacy Emanuel Medical Center plays a vital role in the Portland metropolitan area and in the Pacific Northwest region as a medical center with around the clock expertise for critical health conditions, while giving the feel of a community hospital. With leading care for trauma, burn, and intensive care, as well as serving as the hub for Life Flight and other critical care transport, Legacy Emanuel is a medical pacesetter on a national scale. Legacy Emanuel also promotes prevention efforts and catalyzes support for neighborhood development and growth. Recently, Legacy broke ground on a major expansion at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center. The $210 million expansion, Emanuel West, is a new four story, seismically upgraded facility with operating rooms and procedural suites to accommodate cardiac services, and other inpatient and outpatient surgeries. Additionally, the Legacy Oregon Burn Center will relocate to the new facility.

The successful candidate for this key role will have 10 years of diverse and progressively more responsible leadership experience in health care and/or related administrative experience. Strong demonstrated experience in complex hospital operations in a quaternary care setting, preferably Level 1 Trauma setting, and leadership in clinical lines of service. Solid physician relations and medical staff experience. Experience in clinical operations, and in developing and implementing effective operational and financial systems and controls. Experience in competitive, managed care market, and in leading short term and long range planning. Excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, collaboration skills. Preference to seasoned, proven Physician Leader, in addition to Administrator/CEO, Assistant Administrator, or COO level experience in tertiary care setting.
