Duke Plastic Surgery Faculty Opportunity
The Division of Plastic, Reconstructive and Oral Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina, is seeking a board certified, plastic surgeon fellowship trained in microsurgery. Candidates must have completed an accredited program in plastic surgery, have a focus on breast reconstruction surgery and be experienced academic clinicians at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Candidates must also have a demonstrated record of excellent clinical skills and accomplishments, and have interest in the education of medical students and residents. Protected time for research may be provided depending on the candidate's background and research interests.
Opportunities exist for a broad practice including both reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. A strong interest and experience in reconstructive breast and other oncologic reconstructive surgery is essential.
The Division of PSU currently has five full-time faculty members and is recognized for expertise in the full spectrum of congenital and acquired deformities, clinical research, and evidence-based studies in the surgical sciences. The Division performs over 1,600 operative procedures a year including the full range of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, microsurgery reconstructive procedures, craniomaxillofacial trauma, facial plastic procedures, and Level I trauma care to injured patients.
