The Bay Pines Veterans Healthcare System (BPVAHCS) is seeking multiple eligible Physicians for the Lee County VA Healthcare Center, Cape Coral, FL and for the Port Charlotte Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) Port Charlotte, FL.

The Lee County Health Care Center (LCHCC) is a 220,000 square foot multispecialty outpatient facility located in Cape Coral, Florida. The city is known as a "Waterfront Wonderland," with over 400 miles of navigable waterways. Originally opened in December 2012, the center employs more than 6,500 clinical and administrative professionals and serves more than 35,000 Veterans. Services provided at the facility include primary care, mental health, and a multitude of specialty services such as same-day surgery, dental care, occupational and physical therapy, dermatology, urology, audiology, and more. Also, as part of the LCHCC, the Center has established a Community based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) in Naples, Port Charlotte, and Sebring, Florida. The Lee County Healthcare Center is part of the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System located in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Overall, the healthcare system employees more than 4,000 employees and serves 108,000 Veterans across southwest Florida. The organization is the fourth busiest VA health care system in the country in terms of patients served and is accredited by The Joint Commission, Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and several other nationally recognized accrediting organizations.

Highly Preferred Experience: Board Eligible/Certified with completion of three years of Internship/Residency program.

Tours of Duty: Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., subject to extended hours, weekends, nights, irregular tours, and/or holidays.

FEDERAL RETIREMENT: You will earn benefits toward a federal retirement as a VA Physician. Depending on your age, you can retire from federal government with as little as 10 years of service. Military service time counts and any other federal service time you have accumulated does as well.

MALPRACTICE INSURANCE: None required. You are backed by the US Government if a claim arises so you don’t pay a penny and can concentrate on practicing medicine.

SALARY: VA Physician salaries are determined by a compensation panel of physicians at the facility where you practice medicine. VA salaries are very competitive and are based on physician salaries of the local market, your years of experience, your specialty, board certifications, and credentials as a physician.
