JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Chair and the Division Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, assists with the day-to-day operations of all Department/Division activities. Helps ensure that the division provides a level of care that is of the highest quality, meeting both national and local standards of care. Helps provide active, ongoing participation in quality and safety activities. All procedures and/or treatment of conditions are performed within purview of responsibility as established at time of appointment. Assignments will be based on departmental needs as determined by the Departmental Chair.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy Medicine (DO) from an accredited college or university.
- Successful completion of an ACGME accredited or equivalent residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Licensed as a physician in the State of Illinois - OR - have the ability to obtain license prior to starting employment.
- Current and valid Illinois Controlled Substances License or must obtain license prior to starting employment.
- Current and valid licensure with the Federal DEA or must obtain license prior to starting employment.
- Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology with maintenance of certificate or active candidate for certification per the policies and procedures of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology or American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics of Gynecology.
- Three (3) years of experience with high risk obstetrics navigating multidisciplinary team approaches in complicated patient care situations.
- Must provide evidence of currently practicing and maintaining clinical competency with regard to core skills in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Must have prior experience working with OB/GYN Residency Program Leadership.
- Must be able to participate in mandatory in-house night and weekend call schedule or alternative call schedule.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Two (2) years of experience in conducting quality and process improvement projects.
- Two (2) years of experience in writing policies and protocols to incorporate the latest American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologist (ACOG) recommendations.
- Bilingual skills in English/Spanish (basic proficiency).
