Director of Neurological Surgery Anesthesiology

The Department of Anesthesiology at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, and Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, located in Philadelphia, PA, seeks candidates for the position of the Director of the Neurological Surgery Anesthesia Services. 

The Director will be responsible for overseeing the clinical, educational, administrative, and research activities of a geographically dispersed neurological surgery division at the department of anesthesiology. The qualified candidate is expected to be a full-time member of the department, participating in combined anesthesia and neurological surgery initiatives focusing on efficiency, productivity, and quality metrics.

Qualified candidates will be board certified in Anesthesiology, with at least five years of experience in neurological anesthesia. Fellowship training in neuroanesthesia is desired. Candidates should demonstrate outstanding professional credibility, proven ability to form and lead high performing teams, and excellent communication skills. Academic rank and salary commensurate with experience.

Thomas Jefferson University Hospital was recently included in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals 2016-17 Honor Roll. Approximately 4,000 neurosurgical and spine procedures are performed annually at the renowned Vickie & Jack Farber Institute for Neuroscience and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, which is a federally-designated spinal cord injury center. The institution is expanding its volume of patients treated for cerebrovascular disorders, endoscopic neurosurgery, and surgical treatment of movement disorders and Parkinson's disease.
