Minimum education, training, and work experience, etc., required: Candidate must be Board Certified in Internal Medicine with a track record in academic internal medicine, for at least five years, performing in the role of Associate Program Director or Program Director of a USA Academic Accredited Program. Subspecialty training and board certification is a plus. The candidate should be at the level of Assistant Professor and/or be eligible for appointment to the Associate or Professor level. The candidate must have demonstrated clinical administrative and/or research leadership accomplishments as well as aptitude for mentoring and house staff development. Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills are necessary. NY State Medical License at time of employment. Job description: The Internal Medicine Residency Program Director will be responsible for leading, administering, and supervising all aspects of the Internal Medicine Residency Program in accordance with the ACGME Program requirements. The Program Director will develop, modify as necessary, and conduct the residency program in accordance with the program requirements outlined by the Residency Review Committee in order to ensure the highest quality education, and to maintain continuing full program accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, as well as maintain and follow the Institutional guidelines, goals, and objectives. The Director will provide educational experiences enabling resident physicians to obtain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to practice independently and competently.
