Director for Hematological Malignancies

The Division of Hematology and Oncology and the Comprehensive Cancer Center in the School of Medicine, Department of Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking an outstanding academic physician investigator as Director of Hematological Malignancies to further the development of an outstanding academic and clinical program in Hematological Malignancies. The candidate will lead the expansion and integration of outstanding leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and transplant programs, with the goal of providing exemplary patient care integrated with cutting edge clinical and laboratory research. The program is supported by an outstanding multidisciplinary team as well as strong basic and clinical research programs

Appointments will be at the Associate or Full Professor level, tenure earning, tenured, or non-tenure earning, commensurate with experience. Applicants must have an MD degree, and board certified or board eligible in hematology and/or oncology.

The Division of Hematology and Oncology is rapidly expanding its clinical and translational research and educational activities with heavy investment from the Department, School, and Cancer Center. The UAB NCI-funded Comprehensive Cancer Center is one of the nation’s leading cancer research and treatment centers. Faculty have access to several outstanding interdisciplinary programs including the UAB CTSI, the Alabama Drug Discovery Alliance, and flagship programs in Genomics/personalized medicine, advanced medical imaging, outcomes and effectiveness research and survivorship, amongst several others.
