Welcome to IASIS Healthcare

Healing is a process, not an event. We understand and respect this, just as the ancient Greeks did. They gave us the Hippocratic Oath, and from them, we took our name.

“IASIS” - an ancient Greek word that means “the process of healing”.

We are a healthcare services organization delivering high-quality, cost-effective healthcare through a broad and differentiated set of capabilities and assets, including acute care hospitals with related patient access points and a diversified and growing managed care risk platform.

Our company is comprised of our acute care operations, which include 16 acute care hospitals, one behavioral hospital and multiple other access points, including 132 physician clinics, multiple outpatient surgical units, imaging centers, and investments in urgent care centers and on-site employer-based clinics, that serve more than a combined 1.1 million patients annually, and our diversified and growing managed care risk platform, Health Choice and its affiliated entities.

Our business model is centered on deploying our acute care expertise and managed care risk platform, either separately or on an integrated basis, in urban and suburban markets to manage population health, integrate the delivery and payment of healthcare services and ultimately expand our total market opportunities within our existing and new geographic markets.

Our Background

Founded in 1998, privately held IASIS Healthcare is a leading owner and operator of community-focused hospitals in high-growth markets. IASIS Healthcare began principal operations in October of 1999, in transactions arranged by the management team and Joseph Littlejohn & Levy. In 2004, Texas Pacific Group, a private equity firm managing more than $48 billion in assets, led a group of investors to acquire IASIS. Today, TPG is the single largest stockholder in IASIS.

Hospital Highlights

Emergency Medical Services: A 25-bed emergency department providing medical care for major emergencies and a fast track for less-serious cases. Our door-to-doc time averages just 18 minutes. We have an ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) program on site designed to reduce our door-to-balloon time (the time you enter our ER to the time you receive treatment in our Catheterization Lab) in addressing potential heart attack patients. Our door-to-balloon time is currently 58 minutes compared to the industry standard of 90 minutes.

Heart Care: Our experienced heart team is committed to delivering expert heart care. We offer a broad range of cardiac services, from sophisticated testing for early diagnosis to interventional treatments in our catheterization suite with dedicated staff 24/7.

Stroke Treatment Center: Our certification as a primary stroke treatment center is another step in our overall stroke treatment program, which includes specialized stroke treatment training for ER physicians, nurses and our emergency medical services, along with patient rehabilitation services and a stroke support group for continued healing.

Women’s Health: We provide care for all stages of a woman’s life, including maternity care with labor and delivery, postpartum, nursery, breast health and gynecological services. Our recently-renovated Women’s Center includes newly-remodeled rooms, a level II NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) and neonatologist coverage, to ensure you and your baby get the best care possible.

Orthopedics, Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Services: Comprehensive orthopedic services including total joint replacement for knees, hips and shoulders; joint repair procedures; spine surgery; and a sports medicine program (Sports Med Utah). As part of our rehabilitation services, we have a large swimming pool on campus for aquatic therapy.

Diagnostic Imaging: Advanced imaging technology including a 64-slice CT scanner, MRI, nuclear medicine, digital mammography and ultrasound.

Behavioral Health Services: The Behavioral Health Services team provides comprehensive psychiatric care for adults. The 26-bed, state-of-the-art psychiatric unit provides inpatient services. The outpatient clinic provides medication management, individual therapy, group therapy, collaboration with patient’s family or identified support system and association with local mental health community authorities to provide additional support and resources for our patients.

Rehabilitation Services: Outpatient services including physical, occupational and speech therapies. We provide aquatic physical therapy on campus in our full-size swimming pool.

Hernia Center of Utah: Bringing together the newest techniques and materials in hernia repair. Our surgeons are experienced in treating primary and recurrent hernias using both open and laparoscopic methods. You will receive personalized care for your hernia. We believe each hernia is unique and we take a dynamic approach by selecting the best technique for each patient.

Reflux Center: For those who have a chronic form of heartburn known as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), untreated symptoms can lead to a variety of health complications. If you experience frequent or extended heartburn (twice a week on a regular basis) it is important to get help right away, and be aware of your treatment options.
