Faculty Position - Assistant Professor
The Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Medicine is seeking a Cardiac Research Scientist and academic leader to serve as the Director of the Preclinical Electrophysiology Research Lab.
The applicant will be expected to be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day performance of the lab, including design and performance of electrophysiologic experiments in large animals including arrhythmia mapping, ablation, device implantation, and survival surgeries. The candidate will be responsible for supervising veterinary technicians and working closely with cardiology staff and fellow trainees.
The candidate should have established research and teaching experience with common arrhythmias, arrhythmia mapping systems, pacing, optical mapping, fluoroscopic and echo systems, as well as similar technologies common to electrophysiology preferred.
Appointment as an Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor at the Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training and achievements in addition to teaching activities. Suitable candidates will have an MD or an MD-PhD, and Board Certification in Internal Medicine. Although several years of experience would be advantageous, less experienced candidates with exceptional promise will also be considered.
