Baystate Health, a Truven® Award–winning healthcare system and home of the University of Massachusetts Medical School-Baystate, is seeking a board certified Heart Failure Physician to join its growing Heart & Vascular Care program in Springfield, Massachusetts.

This opportunity features:

A HIGH-QUALITY CENTER. Truven Health Analytics named Baystate Medical Center (BMC) one of the nation’s “50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals.” U.S. News & World Report ranked BMC among the nation’s 34 “high-performing” hospitals for 2015-16.

HIGH VOLUME. Busy revascularization and valve programs, a regional STEMI center, and robust regional referrals support an expanding congestive heart failure (CHF) population. We are the only comprehensive advanced heart disease program in western Massachusetts.

A BURGEONING PROGRAM. The candidate will join a group of B/C advanced heart disease specialists in a rapidly growing inpatient and outpatient program, where you will evaluate and manage patients with advanced heart failure, including IV inotrope or LVAD therapies. A well-established and multidisciplinary advanced heart disease program provides exceptional outpatient management, as well as consultation for destination-therapy with durable VAD or cardiac transplantation, or both. A busy inpatient service manages patients who require acute and durable mechanical support.

STATE-OF-THE-ART FACILITIES. The Davis Family Heart & Vascular Center opened in 2012. It contains six surgical and endovascular suites (four hybrid) and 32 cardiovascular critical care rooms designed to create efficient, comfortable environments for cardiac patients.

FACULTY APPOINTMENT. The successful candidate will enjoy an opportunity for clinical education and research with fellows, residents, and medical students, as well as faculty appointment to the University of Massachusetts Medical School-Baystate.

COLLABORATION. You’ll work with a large collegial group of B/C heart failure physicians, vascular surgeons, cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, electrophysiologists, anesthesiologists, and radiologists — all dedicated to success and patient-centered excellence.

The Advanced Heart Disease Program affords an opportunity for professional growth and program development, while allowing you to maintain a pleasing work-life balance.

This ideal candidate will have experience in the management of advanced heart failure patients, including mechanical support. We have been very successful in mentoring and onboarding new graduates.
