Cardiologist – with expertise in advanced Heart Failure, Pulmonary Hypertension, Cardiovascular Imaging and Applied Biomarker Research

Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, Department of Medicine Stanford University's School of Medicine, Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine and Stanford Cardiovascular Institute are seeking a board certified cardiologist with expertise in advanced heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, transplantation, and cardiovascular imaging. The candidate will hold the rank of Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor.

From a clinical perspective, the candidate will attend on the advanced heart failure, heart transplantation, and cardiovascular imaging service and will lead the heart failure imaging program. The candidate will co-lead the cardio-pulmonary exercise testing in patients with heart failure.

From an educational perspective, we expect the candidate to develop a new curriculum for heart failure imaging and exercise testing, as part of a larger Precision Medicine initiative at the University.

From a research perspective, the candidate will lead the Stanford Cardiovascular Institute Biomarker and Phenotypic Core Laboratory.

The mission of the Core Laboratory will be to facilitate translational cardiovascular discoveries with a focus on early detection of disease, mechanisms of heart failure, and development of novel diagnostic panels. Experience in cardio-immunology and a strong record of accomplishment in clinical research is desired.

From an administrative perspective, the candidate will co-lead the quality improvement initiatives at a program level.

Finally, being a member of International Guideline committees on heart failure or pulmonary hypertension will be considered when evaluating candidates.

The major criterion for appointment, reappointment, and promotion for Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care and clinical teaching appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidates.
