Tufts Medical Center – Boston, MA
The New England Eye Center at Tufts Medical Center, an exceptional and leading academic center in downtown Boston with additional offices throughout Eastern MA, seeks an experienced and collegial Director, Glaucoma and Cataract Service. You will play an active administrative, clinical, teaching, and research role in this national and international acclaimed Ophthalmology Department.
- Be the successor to our long term current Director, Cynthia Mattox, MD , the elected President of the American Glaucoma Society from 2017 to 2018, who is retiring from clinical practice
- Be the driving force of the Glaucoma and Cataract service with its robust internal and external clinical referral base along with patient self-referrals.
- The Department provides the full spectrum of acute glaucoma care and cataract surgeries which can be performed at Tufts Medical Center or contracted ambulatory surgery centers
- Be the proactive author and editor of its fellowship curriculum and provide the training and mentorship to its fellows and ophthalmology residents
- The New England Eye Center is recognized as the forefront in ophthalmic imaging research and leader/developer in Ocular Imaging technology and optical coherence tomography

Candidates must be Board Certified with a minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience. Less experienced clinical candidates with strong administrative experiences or interests may be considered.
Tufts Medical Center is an exceptional, not-for-profit, 415-bed academic medical center that is home to both a full-service hospital for adults and Floating Hospital for Children. Conveniently located in downtown Boston, the Medical Center is the principal teaching hospital for Tufts University School of Medicine. Floating Hospital for Children is the full-service children's hospital of Tufts Medical Center and the principal pediatric teaching hospital of Tufts University School of Medicine.
