Co-Program Leader, Cancer Biology and Director of Experimental Therapeutics - University of Hawaii Cancer Center - Position #82954

The University of Hawaii Cancer Center (UHCC) seeks a mid-level to senior cancer researcher conducting cutting-edge translational research to join a growing team of diverse and dynamic investigators devoted to developing novel anticancer therapeutics. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to assume a leadership role in the Cancer Center as co-Program Leader for Cancer Biology and Director of Experimental Cancer Therapeutics. The successful candidate is expected to perform professional and scientific research in the areas of basic cancer biology with a focus on bench to bedside translation and will have the opportunity to collaborate with faculty in the Cancer Center and within the larger University of Hawaii system. As Director of Experimental Therapeutics, he/she will have the opportunity to develop a novel phase I program that will be the only such resource in the State. Opportunities exist to expand the area of influence in this area throughout Asia. The successful candidate is expected to maintain an independent, nationally funded cancer research program.

Qualified candidates should have a MD/DO or equivalent degree with a strong record of independent scientific accomplishments, and a solid evidence of a sustained, R-type extramural funding. The successful applicant will be provided with a highly competitive package of laboratory space in the new 150,000 sq.ft. Cancer Center building, start-up funding, programmatic support, and salary. This is a full-time, tenure-track position within the University of Hawaii, Manoa.
