Providence Health & Services - Oregon d/b/a Providence Medical Group South desires to employ a Physician - Internal Medicine at the Providence Professional Plaza - Medford. The Physician—Internal Medicine will be responsible for diagnosing and treating internal disorders such as hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, as well as lung, brain, kidney, and gastrointestinal disorders. Specifically, the Physician - Internal Medicine's duties shall include: * Prescribe, administer medication, therapy, and other medical care to prevent illness, disease, and injury. * Advise patients and members of the community on preventative lifestyle choices such as diet, hygiene, activity level, and disease prevention. * Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients. * Manage and treat common health problems such as infections, influenza, pneumonia. * Manage and treat chronic or complex illnesses in all age groups. * Provide and manage long-term, comprehensive care. * Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination results. * Keep up to date with research and new techniques in the medical field * Understand and interpret a patient's self-report or behavior with an understanding of physical, emotional, cognitive, psychosocial, and chronological maturation processes. * Diagnose, treat, and communicate with patients on an individualized basis, which reflects an understanding of the developmental needs and range of treatment needs for each patient. * Maintains confidentiality of all information related to patients, medical staff, employees, and all other information as appropriate. * Perform other duties relating to the program as requested by physician division/ hospital administration. Minimum requirements: * Medical degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or foreign equivalent acceptable. * Completion of a three-year residency in Internal Medicine. * Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Board Eligibility with scheduled testing date. * Oregon State Medical License. * Certification in American Heart Association's Basic Life Support (BLS).
