New Advanced Practice Options in Neurology - Boston, MA!

BOSTON: The Neurocritical care team at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center is seeking to hire additional Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to staff our planned Neuro-ICS. Currently consisting of 3 neurointensivists and 2 NPs and operating in a consultative/co-management role in existing medical and surgical ICUs. Advanced practitioners will function as primary critical care practitioners in the Neuro-ICU under the direction of a neurointensivist. The Neuro-ICU will admit adult patients with critical illness due primarily to neurological and neurosurgical problems, including post neurosurgical and post neurointerventional patients.'

Responsibilities:
13 - 12 hour shifts per month (within a 4 week period)
Physical assessment
Development and implementation of diagnostic and therapeutic plans
Interpretation of physical exam laboratory, imaging, and physiologic data
Clinical documentation
Some invasive procedures (arterial and central venous line placement)'

Qualifications:
Previous experience in an ICU setting
Dedication to the delivery of outstanding care to patients and their families
Excellent interpersonal skills
The ability to function semi-autonomously
An enthusiasm for the teaching, learning, and quality improvement necessary for the successful building of the Neurocritical care program
Experience as an advanced practitioner preferred
Master's Degree Program in nursing
License to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
