Anchorage, Alaska - Providence Medical Group Alaska is seeking a BC/BE Pediatric Gastroenterologist for a full-time clinical position in Anchorage, Alaska. This position is mostly outpatient clinics at Providence Pediatric Gastroenterology, with some inpatient consulting at The Children's Hospital at Providence—the children's hospital within Providence Alaska Medical Center—and the nearby Alaska Native Medical Center. We see patients from all parts of Alaska, with a wide variety of challenging disorders. The Children's Hospital at Providence has 115 beds, including a 9-bed PICU, and a separate 66-bed NICU. The Providence Pediatric Gastroenterology Clinic has access to a full-time pediatric dietician, speech therapists, physical therapists, and social worker. The Children's Hospital at Providence has an infusion center, laboratory, pathology and imaging facilities. Local pediatric subspecialties include surgery/surgical subspecialties, neurology, endocrinology, hematology/oncology, nephrology, allergy, infectious disease and pulmonology. Pediatric rheumatology and genetics services are available on a rotating basis from Seattle Children's Hospital/University of Washington. The successful candidate will preferably have at least 2 years of clinical experience following fellowship in the entire spectrum of pediatric gastroenterology and hepatology disorders, endoscopic procedures, and excellent communication skills. There is opportunity to teach medical students and residents, and those involved in teaching can apply for an appointment as clinical faculty at the University of Washington Department of Pediatrics. The successful candidate will join 2 other physicians (with one planning to retire after the new hire is in place) in an office with 1 nurse (plans to hire a 2nd nurse), 1 MA, and 1 front desk—and a beautiful view of the mountains.
