The Northwell Health Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine seek a Board Certified/Board Eligible MD Physician to join our team at Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH) as the Chair of Pathology. Candidates must be board certified in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology, have established clinical expertise in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology,  and experience in leadership.  The individual will be expected to have, or successfully obtain, a New York State licenclicenseactice medicine, and must possess or be eligible to obtain New York State Certificates of Qualification for Medical Directorship.  Candidates should have a demonstrated commitment to teaching and academic excellence.

Highlights of the position include:

  • Provide visible and accessible institutional leadership and oversee all operations of Anatomic Pathology and clinical laboratory medicine services.
  • Provide leadership in coordinating SIUH laboratory services with the Northwell Health Laboratory Service Line and health system clinical and academic strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements of CAP, State of New York Department of Health, and other regulatory agencies. 
  • Provide leadership with respect to patient safety and quality, laboratory test utilization, and operational performance of the laboratories.

Salary Disclosure

Full-time clinical base compensation at Northwell Health ranges from $125K to $750K, which is impacted by various factors, including but not limited to physician specialty, level of experience, quality of care, academic accomplishments, patient experience and productivity. The base compensation range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
