The Imaging Institute at Cleveland is currently seeking an Associate Imaging Informatics Officer. This position will be based at our Main Campus in Cleveland, Ohio. The successful candidate will work with our Chief Imaging Informatics Officer. This position will consist of 40% Imaging Informatics. The remaining 60% of time will be spend in one of our clinical sections of radiology at our main campus.

This position requires Board Certification by the American Board of Radiology. Fellowship training in Imaging Informatics or have at least 5 years professional experience in imaging informatics post residency is required and certification as a CIIP is desirable. The successful candidate most also have formal fellowship training in one of the following radiology specialties: Interventional, Thoracic, MSK, Breast, Abdominal, Neuro, Pediatric, or Cardiovascular.

Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinates imaging informatics strategy with Chief Imaging Informatics Officer
  • Serves as liaison between radiologists and referring physicians
  • Works with institutional: IT, the Heart and Vascular Institute, Enterprise Imaging to coordinate activities related to Imaging IT.
  • Works closely with Imaging Informatics on projects, strategy, and administration
  • Pursues self-directed research in Imaging Informatics
  • Participates in informatics innovation and national informatics societies
  • Educates residents, radiologists, and others about Imaging Informatics

Imaging Informatics supports the operations of Cleveland Clinic's Imaging Institute by ensuring that patient images and clinical information are available to physicians when and where they need them. With more than 35 members, many of whom are programmers and application support professionals, Cleveland Clinic has one of the largest Imaging Informatics sections in the country. The Imaging Institute oversees the ordering, scheduling, acquisition, interpretation, storage, retrieval and display of over 2 million examinations a year in an expanding variety of intra- and extra-mural venues

Imaging Informatics is responsible for implementing, supporting and enhancing systems that the Imaging Institute utilizes not only in clinical practice, but in research and education as well. Examples include the Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) that connect all Cleveland Clinic facilities, speech recognition systems, teaching systems and enterprise image distribution systems. Research projects addressing performance improvement are a significant component of the section's mission.
