Overview: SUNY Downstate is one of the nation's leading urban medical centers located in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Th Physician Assistant I in the Department of Medicine.

Core Responsibilities:

• Perform admission histories and physical examinations on newly-admitted and transferred patients to the medical service
• With the guidance of the supervisory attending physician, initiate diagnostic evaluation and therapeutics
• Monitor and manage inpatients with a wide variety of illnesses and perform daily examinations and assessments
• Perform selected procedures
• Maintain medical records, including admission notes, progress notes, transfer notes, and discharge summaries

Core Requirements:

• NCCPA certification
• Inpatient experience preferred
• BLS certified
• Schedule flexibility to cover emergencies
