The Veterans Affairs Health Care System (MVAHCS) in Minneapolis, Minnesota seeks a full-time BE/BC Nephrologist. The successful candidate should demonstrate a strong commitment to quality patient care, to fellow and resident education, and to faculty development. He/she will have training and/or a track record in academic settings and should be dedicated to continued scholarship. Responsibilities will include patient care (outpatient and inpatient) for chronic and end-stage kidney disease, fluid, electrolyte, and acid-base disorders, as well as trainee supervision and education, and production of scholarly materials. As an academic nephrologist, the incumbent will be an active participant in the teaching program, will lead clinical activities within the nephrology service, and will be responsible for fostering the academic careers of trainees. The Minneapolis VAHCS is affiliated with the University of Minnesota and the applicant should be eligible for faculty appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level at the University of Minnesota, Department of Medicine. Experience in clinical leadership, systems-level healthcare delivery, Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement, and/or clinical research is strongly preferred.
