Zucker Hillside Hospital – Northwell Health

The Behavioral Health Service Line at Northwell Health is seeking a Psychiatrist to join our Addiction Treatment Services Program at Zucker Hillside Hospital on Long Island. The ideal candidate will be Board Certified/Board Eligible in General Psychiatry and in addition, either Addiction Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine.

Highlights include:

  • Oversee the psychiatric care of patients undergoing Medication Assisted Treatment
  • Provide direct care to patients including psychiatric assessments and medication management
  • Lead the clinical team in coordinating patient’s progress and adjusting treatment plans
  • Collaborate with the clinic’s medical team around dosing issues and other health concerns
  • Consult with inpatient psychiatric units and Emergency Departments around possible referrals
  • Assist in training medical students, psychiatric residents, and addiction psychiatry fellows

Zucker Hillside Hospital is a 225-bed not-for-profit behavioral health facility which is one of the leading inpatient and outpatient behavioral health organizations in the nation. The Addiction Treatment Services of The Zucker Hillside Hospital offer the latest innovations in addiction services including evidence based treatments for substance use disorders at multiple community locations. Our Opiate Treatment Program (OTP)  provides comprehensive assessments, group therapy, individual therapy, medical services, medication management, medication assisted treatments (including methadone maintenance, buprenorphine, naltrexone, and Vivitrol), nursing services, pharmacological services, psychiatric assessment, medication management, and vocational services. The OTP is a Certified Opiate Overdose Prevention Program and has a recently developed ambulatory detoxification track as well. With a commitment to training medical students, residents, and fellows, research engagement, standardized diagnostic assessment, and measurement-based outcomes, as well as the use of new technologies, the environment at Zucker Hillside is one of the most sophisticated in the nation.

Salary Disclosure

Full-time clinical base compensation at Northwell Health ranges from $125K to $750K, which is impacted by various factors, including but not limited to physician specialty, level of experience, quality of care, academic accomplishments, patient experience and productivity. The base compensation range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
